Tokens 4 Breakfast is built by Kapisch Bhardwaj, an indie product builder and AI Transformation Architect in Germany. The app exists because AI spend and rate-limit pressure are easiest to manage while the session is still open, not after the invoice or cutoff arrives.
Why this exists
Tokens 4 Breakfast grew out of daily Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI, and Gemini usage where the real problem was not another dashboard, but seeing spend and rate-limit pressure while the work was still happening.
The product is intentionally small: a native macOS menu bar app, one free provider, one-time Pro, and no account wall before value. It is not trying to become another hosted analytics platform. It is trying to keep token usage, AI subscriptions, and budget drift close enough to change behavior during real work.
